Why Georgia?

A Hub for International Talent

Georgia has one of the most liberal visa regimes in the world, allowing citizens of 95+ countries to stay visa-free for up to one year. However, for long-term stability in Georgia, access to banking services, tax residency, and lawful business or employment activities, a residence permit in Georgia is essential.

At Tbilisi Law, we ensure that your Georgia residence permit application is not merely compliant, but legally robust and strategically structured. Each case is supported by solid legal evidence — whether it involves a property valuation, financial documentation, or a legitimate employment or investment agreement. We build strong immigration cases designed for approval in Georgia.

Relocation Questions

What is the difference between temporary and permanent residency?

Temporary Residency (Property or Work) is usually issued for 1 year and must be renewed annually (up to 6/12 years). Permanent Residency is issued for life, but typically requires holding a temporary permit for 10 years or making a $300k investment upfront.

Does buying agricultural land qualify for residency?

No. Foreigners are banned from owning agricultural land. To qualify for the $100k Property Residency, you must purchase non-agricultural land, a residential apartment, or commercial space.

Can I work on a tourist visa?

Technically, yes. Georgia allows work on the visa-free stamp. However, getting a formal Work Residence Permit is highly recommended for tax residency, opening business bank accounts, and long-term security.
